Bosch KJetronic CIS and CIS-E

The Bosch mechanical fuel injection system know as both CIS and KJet are the proprietor names for the Bosch K KJetronic fuel delivery system. The design of the system was based on the function of a carburettor, with more accuracy. Although there are some complicated components in the system, it proved to be quite robust and reliable. As with any mechanical system, maintenance is vital for proper operation. This is why we have setup this section on our site. Although we are a Classic Mercedes specialist, we understand that the fuel systems used on Mercedes vehicles were identical to those used on other makes and models across Europe at the time.
